So, as some of you may or may not know, Simon and Schuster is launching a new imprint, Simon451, this year. They ran a contest (that I mentioned in my last post) and I submitted the first fifty pages of Lysistrata. Today, they announced the ten finalists, who have until September 1st to submit the completed manuscript, and one of whom will win the big prize.
Needless to say, I was a little excited when I saw this in my email:
So yeah. That happened. I’m pretty sure I haven’t calmed down yet. As of right now it’s just bragging rights, but those are some pretty awesome bragging rights. Tonight, I celebrate with sushi! Hopefully I’ll be seeing more “Congratulations” in my inbox in September. Good luck to the other finalists, though not too much luck 😉 I can’t wait to see what the others have in store!
*UPDATE*: Apparently Simon451 took their contest page down. Hopefully they will have a new one up soon with the names of the ten finalists. The winner of the contest gets a book deal with Simon451, a nice advance, and a trip to New York ComiCon to help launch the imprint.
